Identity

I feel that identity is not only defined by us but by society.

    But seriously, I'd like to figure out to what extent this is true. I think which roles we are even allowed to be free to choose are defined by societal pressures.

I agree with Cody, as much as a person can try and make their own identity, they are truly shaped from the day they are born from the people who raise them (unless of course they are abandoned as a child and left in the wilderness to fend for themselves before they have had an impression on them by society)but.... besides that society impacts a persons identity more then they can ever imagine soooooooo, I agree that society defines someones identity completely, weather they chose to rebel or to conform to society that is their option, but society still shapes that.
